Venous Lakes

Venous lakes are dark blue/purple, raised, large venous structures that become evident after environmental exposures or trauma (bite wounds on lips).  These are low flow structures and respond nicely to 1064 laser therapy.  The majority of the lesions need merely one treatment sessions while larger structures may need additional treatment to completely resolve.  The laser targets hemoglobin in the structure and absorbs the energy allowing the venous lake to shrink, coagulate, and be absorbed.  Unsightly blue lesions on lips can become distant memories with a few pulses of laser.  If you are suffering from venous lakes, give us a call.
